David is renowned as one of the best 'over takers' in the business and for being his own man. Where others may use tactics that are at best described as debatable, David is a clean racer and yet able to mount a serious challenge for the World title as his second place in the 2001 championship shows.

Honour and sportsmanship are not associated with F1 but as his 9 seasons with Mclaren shows he is a superb performer and worker for the team. Now at Red Bull he is proving to be a substantial asset for the team as well

2008

David Coulthard and Red Bull Racing

Red Bull racing started to make some real progress towards the end of last year and testing is going well to date with the new car. The team are hoping to make some inroads into the leading contenders and certainly now have the personnel to do it.

In David of course they have a major strength, a driver who always gives of his best and a man the team can trust to deliver. DC regularly makes up ground in the early laps and is one of the most consistent performers once the lights have gone out at the start. Last year the car proved quick but a little fragile, but better that than slow and reliable! This year if the team can sort out the few problems that caused the unreliability then they will undoubtedly be up near the very front of the grid.

Some of David’s drives in 2007 were stunning, and his superb drives in the rain in Europe and Japan are a pointer to his ability when conditions are difficult. With the loss of traction control this year this talent could well see David on the podium again as more brutal drivers suffer whilst DC’s finesse brings the car home in one piece.

All David’s fans wish him the very best for 2008 and look forward to seeing him at one of the clubs functions and trips through the year.
